Job summary

Sigma Recruitment seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer for on-site work in Lichfield, UK. You will create 3D CAD models, perform FEA, and refine designs with supplier input to ensure manufacturability.

The role involves mentoring junior colleagues and collaborating with international teams to deliver robust mechanical solutions. Hybrid options may be available after settling in.

Qualifications

• Strong 3D CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred.
• Hands-on experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
• A mechanical engineering degree or a closely related design background.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D CAD models and 2D drawings to required standards and tolerances.
• Carry out finite element analysis to prove product performance before manufacturing.
• Analyse existing designs and develop new ones from field knowledge and competitor insight.
• Visit suppliers and foundries to resolve design and manufacturability issues.
• Manage assigned projects, approve first-off samples before handover to operations.
• Work with international colleagues and mentor junior team members.

• £40,000, depending on experience, with a little more possible for the right person
