3sixty Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract in East Sussex, near Hailsham. Salary £40,000‑£50,000 P.A. + benefits.

The role involves translating legacy sketches into detailed SolidWorks models and developing mechanical components for manufacturing. You will produce detailed drawings and BOMs, support new product development, and ensure designs meet engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD skills.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings and BOMs.
• Good understanding of engineering principles.
• Proactive problem solving.

Job Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer – 6‑Month Fixed Term Contract at East Sussex, Nr Hailsham.

Salary: £40,000‑£50,000 P.A. + benefits.

Responsibilities

• Translate legacy hand‑drawn engineering sketches into fully detailed 3D SolidWorks models.
• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Support new product development projects from concept through to manufacture.
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Production teams to ensure designs are efficient to manufacture.
• Carry out engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and design validation.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant engineering standards and company procedures.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar.
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of engineering principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Experience designing products is advantageous but not mandatory.
