Job summary

Ripple Recruitment Ltd is seeking a permanent Mechanical Design / Project Engineer to join an established engineering organisation. This role covers full project lifecycle including 3D CAD design, shop-floor assembly support, testing, system setup and client technical support.

You will prepare SolidWorks models and manufacturing drawings, manage mechanical work from concept to delivery, and collaborate with electrical and software teams to resolve technical queries and refine equipment builds.

Qualifications

• Background in designing mechanical assemblies, dynamic fixtures, motion systems, or custom electro–mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD data management (PDM) systems.
• Practical understanding of integrating mechanical components with electrical sensors, actuators, and pneumatic systems.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred. Candidates with an HND/ND and relevant design experience will also be considered.

Package & Benefits

• Salary: GBP38,000 – GBP45,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
• Holiday: 26 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (rising with service).
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week (includes early Friday finish).
• Pension: Standard company pension scheme.
