Responsibilities

• Manage workload with limited supervision.
• Deliver coordinated design with colleagues from other disciplines.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current industry standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff and apprentices, providing guidance.
• Assist with setting design strategy.
• QA documents, designs and drawings prior to issue to maintain standards.
• Liaise with clients, teams, contractors and staff at all levels.
• Lead small multidisciplinary teams on project delivery.
• Attend client, design team and project meetings.
• Undertake feasibility studies and surveys.
• Produce load calculations and apply for utility connections.
• Produce detailed electrical services designs.
• Review subcontractor design drawings and submissions.
• Conduct site quality and legislative inspections and prepare reports.
• Apply industry design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Nottingham

Employment: Full–Time Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: GBP50,000 – GBP60,000

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established Building Services Consultancy, with opportunities available across their Nottingham and Leeds offices. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to build on your existing building services design experience, with strong support and encouragement for your professional development.

The Role

You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team consisting of Building Services Designers, Revit Technicians, Building Physicists and Document Controllers.

You will be involved in a wide range of projects across numerous market sectors, delivering services from feasibility through to detailed and fully coordinated design for installation purposes, covering RIBA Stages 0–5.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your workload with limited supervision.
• Deliver coordinated design working alongside colleagues from other disciplines.
