Job summary

Hernshead Recruitment Ltd in Dundee is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design bespoke automated machinery from concept through manufacture, testing and commissioning.

You will produce 3D models and drawings, collaborate with electrical, controls, robotics and software engineers, and ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally 3–5 years' experience in mechanical design or a related engineering role.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to develop practical engineering concepts and detailed drawings.
• Good problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in automation, special purpose machinery, robotics or machine design is desirable but not essential.
• Experience within medical, pharmaceutical or other regulated industries would be advantageous

About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll work on a variety of technically challenging projects, developing bespoke machinery from initial concept through to manufacture, testing and commissioning.
