Job summary
Ingersoll Rand Transport Solutions (IRTS) in Bradford is seeking a Mechanical Design & Development Engineer to design and develop new products for bulk powder and liquid compressors for road transport. You will work on NPD projects, drive value engineering, and ensure designs meet performance, safety and reliability goals.
The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 4+ years in product development or design optimisation, and strong CAD (SolidWorks) and SAP BOM management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
- 4+ years in product development, cost-down or design optimisation.
- Experience with rotating equipment or similar mechanical products.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Clear technical communication and documentation discipline.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products, systems and sub-assemblies per requirements.
- Support full NPD lifecycle from concept through validation to industrialisation.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Quality.
- Coordinate with suppliers on component design and materials.
- Ensure smooth handover to manufacturing and supply chain.
