Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is partnering with a major manufacturing site in Greater Manchester to recruit a Mechanical Day Technician. You will be responsible for day-to-day mechanical maintenance, supporting reliability, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.

This role offers a Monday to Friday dayshift with a quarterly call-out (paid 5% of salary). The ideal candidate has heavy industry or FMCG experience, SAP/CMMS proficiency, a Level 3 engineering qualification

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy industrial environment or FMCG as a Mechanical Technician.
• Good experience with SAP or a CMMS system.
• Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification / apprentice trained.
• Self-driven and able to challenge and suggest improvements.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
• Drive reliability, continuous improvement and maintenance excellence.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Support with contractor coordination and on-site maintenance tasks.

MECHANICAL DAY TECHNICIAN

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Old Trafford, Greater Manchester

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

Shift: Monday - Friday days with a call out 1 week every quarter (paid 5% of salary)

• Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification / apprentice trained
• A self-driven individual, who is not afraid to challenge and suggest improvements
• Excellent troubleshooting skills

Desirable Requirements for the Mechanical Day Technician:

• HNC Engineering qualification
• Experience managing contractors
