Job summary

South West Water in Bodmin is seeking a Mechanical Craftsperson to maintain and repair water treatment assets, pumping stations and reservoirs. You will carry out reactive maintenance, fabricate parts, and provide specifications for replacements.

The role offers a competitive salary (£37,389 - £44,307), standby and overtime payments, generous holiday, a pension, Sharesave, health benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline is required.
• RAMS knowledge to deliver safe maintenance regimes.
• Experience with wastewater treatment is desirable.
• Ability to fault find and repair large mechanical equipment.

You'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our water treatment assets, pumping stations, and reservoirs. What you will be doing:

• Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment

• Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment

• Provide detailed specifications for replacement parts

• Assist operational teams with complex problem-solving

• Ensure safety compliance using method statements and RAMS

• Participate in standby/call-out rota

What we are looking for:

• A completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline

• A full understanding of related RAMS to deliver an effective and safe maintenance regime

• Experience of working with Waste Water treatment processes would be desirable

• Ability to fault find and repair large complex pieces of mechanical equipment
