Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International Group, seeks a Construction Planner for Hinkley Point C to shape and manage mechanical construction schedules. The role focuses on coordinating activities, ensuring safe delivery, and maintaining plans across a major nuclear new-build programme.

The successful candidate will work in a hybrid pattern, with emphasis on four-week lookahead planning, risk mitigation, and collaboration across engineering, materials and delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a construction planning environment.
• Experience producing and maintaining detailed project schedules.
• Experience using Primavera P6 planning software.
• Experience on large-scale construction, engineering, maintenance, outage or shutdown projects.
• Experience working in a site-based project environment with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining detailed mechanical construction schedules aligned to programme objectives.
• Preparing and updating four-week lookahead plans and supporting longer-term planning activities.
• Monitoring progress against planned outputs and providing accurate schedule updates.
• Integrating engineering, materials, resources, access, quality and commissioning requirements into construction plans.
• Confirming activity readiness and collaborating with construction and delivery teams to identify and mitigate risks.
