Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is recruiting a Construction Engineer for the Hinkley Point C site, Bridgwater, Somerset. The role is site-based, 37 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, with on-site or hybrid options where appropriate.

You will support mechanical equipment installation, manage work packs, monitor progress and drive actions to keep the programme on track while upholding safety and CDM standards. This is a senior, hands-on role within a major regulated project.

Qualifications

• Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or Degree in mechanical engineering.
• Alternatively, a reputable engineering apprenticeship with significant role experience.
• Experience in regulated industries like nuclear or energy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination and execution of mechanical equipment installation.
• Manage construction work packs and ensure installation docs are maintained.
• Monitor progress, identify blockers and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors and client representatives to resolve issues.
• Provide health, safety and environmental leadership in line with site procedures.
