Job summary

RTL Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager for a major commercial project in Coventry. The role leads on-site delivery of mechanical services, coordinating installation and subcontractors to meet programme requirements.

You will review drawings, RAMS, and technical details, liaise with design teams and clients, and ensure safety and quality across all mechanical trades.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager or equivalent on large commercial builds.
• Strong background in mechanical building services installations (HVAC, heating, ventilation, plumbing).
• Good understanding of drawings, specifications and RAMS.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all mechanical installation activities on site.
• Oversee mechanical subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Ensure works delivered per drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, structural and architectural packages.
• Manage site progress, productivity and programme requirements.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
• Monitor installation quality and ensure standards compliance.
• Review drawings, RAMS and installation details.
• Identify and resolve technical and construction issues on site.

• Assist with procurement, materials planning and delivery schedules.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental requirements are met.
• Support commissioning, testing and handover of mechanical systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical professional to take responsibility for the delivery, coordination and installation of mechanical building services on a large-scale commercial project.

• Manage and coordinate all mechanical installation activities on site.

• Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, structural and architectural packages.

  Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager, Mechanical Site Manager or similar.
• Strong background in commercial building services / construction projects.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services installations, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, plumbing and associated systems.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants and project teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction health and safety requirements.
• Relevant mechanical/building services qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• SMSTS and relevant site qualifications are desirable
