Job summary

TWG Consulting seeks an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction to handover, ensuring safety, programme adherence and budget control.

You will work with the Head of Operations and Company Director to support project and site teams and manage relationships with clients, main contractors, designers and suppliers. A strong mechanical background and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or similar.
• Strong mechanical building-services knowledge.
• Experience delivering mechanical projects from start to finish.
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good commercial awareness and contract-management knowledge.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover.
• Support project teams with programmes, costs, procurement, resources and delivery.
• Monitor progress, key dates, project risks and commercial performance.
• Lead project and client meetings.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications and design information.
• Liaise with consultants and design teams to resolve technical queries.
• Provide practical technical guidance to project and site teams.
• Monitor costs, variations, additional works and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, quality requirements and health and safety standards.
• Review inspection plans, commissioning information and completion records.
• Report project progress to the senior management team.

Mechanical Contracts Manager

Our client, a growing SME mechanical building-services subcontractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager.

The Role

You will oversee multiple mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required standards.

Working closely with the Head of Operations and Company Director, you will support project and site teams while maintaining relationships with clients, main contractors, consultants, designers, subcontractors and suppliers.

Experience and Skills

• Experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, Senior Mechanical Engineer or similar.
• Strong mechanical building-services knowledge.
• Experience delivering mechanical projects from commencement to completion.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Good commercial awareness and contract-management knowledge.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• HNC, HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• SMSTS and an appropriate CSCS card.
• AutoCAD, Revit or BIM experience.
• Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts.
