Job summary
MBDA is seeking an ambitious Mechanical Engineer to join the Calibration & Maintenance team in Bolton. You will work closely with production, quality and engineering to ensure measurement accuracy and equipment performance throughout the build process.
Role involves hands-on dimensional calibration for COTS and specialized test equipment, leading inspection activities with CMMs, and supporting manufacturing with calibration expertise.
Qualifications
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering with practical calibration experience.
- Experience creating technical documentation and work instructions.
- Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty.
Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical/dimensional calibration for COTS and test equipment.
- Lead dimensional inspection activities and update CMM programs.
- Provide day-to-day calibration support for manufacturing teams and tooling.
- Act as technical point of contact for calibration queries.
- Contribute to method and process improvements for repeatability.
- Support pressure calibration activities when required.
