Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Building Services Design Consultant Engineering team in Croydon to support project delivery. You will work on heating, cooling, ventilation, and control systems with a focus on BIM and Revit.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical building services design, with knowledge of UK codes and practices. The Croydon team collaborates with St Albans and London offices, with occasional travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical building services calculations and design.
• Motivated and able to quickly grasp new concepts and design tools.
• Fluent in written and oral communication.
• Experience in building services mechanical design, specs, calculations, and developing.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple projects with design and delivery activities across project phases.
• Perform specific, limited portions of broader assignments.
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures.
• Work on detailed or routine engineering calculations.
• Propose approaches to solve new problems.
• Identify discrepancies in results.
• Provide guidance to trainee engineers.
• Work to agreed timeframes with supervision.
• Contribute to development of technical proposals and BIM capabilities.
