Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting a hands-on Mechanical Assembler to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment in Woking, Surrey. You will read technical drawings and assemble or repair mechanical products such as trolleys, steps and platforms, using a range of hand and power tools.

Mechanical Assembler/Mechanical fitter

We are looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Assembler to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical assembly or fitting background who is confident working from technical drawings and using a range of hand and power tools.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and repairing a range of mechanical products, including trolleys, steps, platforms, and other equipment, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings to assemble mechanical products
• Build, assemble, and repair equipment including trolleys, steps, and platforms
• Use drills, grinders, and other hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Complete work accurately and maintain quality documentation and records
• Follow ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures and health & safety requirements at all times

Requirements:

• Previous experience reading and working from technical drawings is essential
• Mechanical assembly, fitting, or engineering background
• Confident using drills, grinders, and other workshop tools

Working Hours: AM / PM shifts available, with early finish options

Location: Woking, Surrey

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000
