Job summary

Proactive is seeking an Assembly Fitter to join a Milton Keynes-based manufacturing and production team. You will assemble components to specification, meet quality standards and delivery schedules while driving efficiency and maintaining safe working practices.

Responsibilities include using the correct tools, fixtures and torque settings, performing inspection checks, following drawings and BOMs, and reporting any parts or process issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings or specifications.
• Ability to interpret measuring results and tolerances.
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic assembly equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring first-time quality.
• Maintain safe working practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Use the correct tools, fixtures and torque settings for each assembly.
• Complete inspection checks with appropriate measuring and testing equipment at each stage.
• Follow assembly instructions, drawings, BOOs and BOMs accurately.
• Identify and escalate any issues with parts, fit, or process.

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Assembly Fitter to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business based in Milton Keynes.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Assembly Fitter to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the site's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

Role: Assembly Fitter

Pay: £15 - £16 per hour PAYE

Assembly Fitter Overview:

To assemble components and products to specification, that meet quality standards and delivery schedules, while driving process efficiency, maintaining safe working practices, and supporting continuous improvement across the assembly function.

• Assemblies consistently meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards first time
• Minimal defects, rework, or returns due to assembly errors
• Correct use of tools, torque settings, and assembly methods
• Inspection checks are completed accurately at each stage using appropriate measuring and testing equipment
• Components are assembled correctly using the right tools, fixtures, and methods every time
• Tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good working condition
• Assembly instructions, drawings, BOOs and BOMs are followed accurately
• Any issues with parts, fit, or process are identified early and escalated
• Carry out any other reasonable request
