Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking a Mechanical Architect to join our Missile Architecture team in Stevenage. The role spans Development, Obsolescence, In Service Support and Hardware coordination, developing requirements with stakeholders and solving mechanical issues while supporting verification and certification for our products.

You will report to the Lead Mechanical Architect, work across Stevenage and Bolton facilities, and contribute to a high-profile programme in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Experience across Mechanical Design, Stress/ Thermal analysis, Mechanical and Climatic Environments, Product Certification.
• Proactive stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
• Run technical work packages with project managers to balance risks.
• Awareness of PLM for Design Definition and Configuration Management.
• Experience delivering product development in challenging environments.
• Strong prioritisation and communication skills.
• Experience delivering product support both in person and remotely.
• Experience leading or contributing to product development and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mechanical architecture requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Coordinate across Development, Obsolescence, ISS, and Hardware teams.
• Manage schedules, costs, quality and performance metrics for work packages.
• Develop and validate interface specifications and documentation.
• Support verification, certification and acceptance activities for MBDA products.
• Provide technical leadership across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
