Job summary

Premier Technical Recruitment in Derby is seeking an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Manager to oversee bids, procurement and delivery of M&E works across diverse projects. You will coordinate site surveys at tender and delivery stages and evaluate supplier proposals for scope, risk and programme to ensure commercial alignment.

• HND Electrical Engineering or higher qualification.
• Minimum 4 years in a similar M&E/bid role with experience in electrical infrastructure.
• Strong IT skills in Excel and Word.
• Legally permitted to work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating and attending site surveys at both tender and project delivery stages.
• Evaluating M&E supplier proposals for scope completeness, risk, programme and commercial alignment.
• Supporting the bid team with pricing strategy, risk allowances, qualifications and clarifications for M&E scope.
• Producing technical and delivery requirements for supplier quotations and conducting evaluations and supporting site surveys as required to inform delivery strategy.
• Attending design meetings (along with design sub-contractor as required).
• Providing technical and delivery support to the Site Supervisor in site progress meetings and assisting the Project Managers in the planning, execution and completion of the M&E sub-contract works, and managing supplier progress and performance, ensuring alignment with project plans.
• Managing and reviewing the production of supplier designs.
• Managing M&E FATs and reviewing all relevant documentation.
• Managing the co-ordination of designers and installers (which may be different sub-contractors).
• Reviewing site test documentation and RAMS for suitability, completeness and alignment.
• Managing site supervisors for M&E works and all aspects of installation handover, as well as all associated members of the team including Commissioning Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers and CAD Engineers.

As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking an experienced and professional Mechanical and Electrical Manager (M&E Manager) to oversee the supply chain operation and support the planning, procurement and delivery of M&E works across a range of projects and bids.

Responsibilities

Tender Stages

• Co-ordinating and attending site surveys at both tender and project delivery stages.
• Evaluating M&E supplier proposals for scope completeness, risk, programme and commercial alignment.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification of HND Electrical Engineering or higher.
• Minimum 4 years of previous experience in a similar role with a high level of familiarity of electrical infrastructure and electrical principles normally associated with projects in transportation, power or comparable sizable projects from other sectors and extensive experience of supporting bids or pre‑construction activities.
• Good level of IT proficiency (Excel and Word mandatory).
• Legally permitted to work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction.
• Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines, with excellent attention to detail and the flexibility and adaptability to manage a range of different tasks and to work extra hours as required.
