Job summary

Apex Resourcing Solutions Ltdis recruiting for an M&E Project Manager for a leading M&E contractor in Yorkshire. The role manages 2–3 projects up to £1 million, reporting to the West Yorkshire office but delivering across the UK. You may need to stay out once a week.

This permanent position offers £60k–£70k per annum plus a car allowance. They provide electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration services, offering clients full design, installation, commissioning and maintenance packages.

Qualifications

• Appropriate qualification in a mechanical, electrical or professional engineering discipline.
• Commercial experience within an M&E / Building Services background.
• Strong project management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of HS&E best practice.
• Track record delivering similar projects successfully.
• Flexibility to travel within the UK and out-of-hours work when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Negotiating and developing project contracts and agreeing these with clients.
• Organising and reviewing sub-contractor and suppliers.
• Working with detailed diagrams, plans and drawings, and completing all project paperwork.
• Managing and forecasting spend, ensuring that work is kept to budget.
• Overseeing installations, and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
• Monitoring systems and processes in accordance with QHS&E requirements and ISO standards.
• Liaising with project stakeholders and attending project meetings.
• Ensuring installations comply with HS&E requirements and CDM2015.
• Ensuring personnel are competent and qualified to work on projects.
• Professional written reporting and feedback to the client and company.

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a M&E Project Manager on behalf of a leading M&E contractor based in Yorkshire. They provide electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration services. They offer clients the full design, installation, commissioning and maintenance package.

Operating for over 30 years, they now employ around 100 engineers. They specialise in retail, leisure, commercial and industrial sectors. Recent clients include the likes of Co-op, The Gym Group, Goldsmiths and Paul Smiths.

As the M&E Project Manager you will be responsible for managing projects from start to completion, on time and within budget, safely, and to the satisfaction of the client. You will be managing 2-3 projects at a time ranging up to £1 million in value.

This is a permanent position reporting to their office in West Yorkshire but covering projects across the UK. You may need to stay out once a week. It is paying £60k – £70k per annum plus car allowance.

• Ensuring that all installations are compliant with HS&E requirements and CDM2015, undertaking checks
• Ensuring that all personnel are suitably competent and qualified to be working on projects
• Professional written reporting and feedback to the client and the Company, in accordance with required timescales and deadlines

Skills & Attributes

• Appropriately qualified in a mechanical, electrical or professional engineering discipline
• Commercial experience within an M&E / Building Services background
• Strong project management experience
• Excellent knowledge of HS&E best practice
• High level of competence using MS Office packages, particularly Excel, Word and Project
• Track record delivering similar projects successfully
• Flexible approach to work, including occasionally out-of-hours & project specific requirements
• Willing to travel within the UK when required
• Motivated, with reliable work history
• Full UK Driving Licence
