Job summary

TipTopJob in Derby is seeking an experienced M and E Manager to oversee the supply chain operation and support the planning, procurement and delivery of M and E works across a range of projects and bids.

You will coordinate site surveys, evaluate supplier proposals, support pricing strategy, manage supplier designs, FATs, RAMS, and lead a team including Commissioning Engineers and CAD Engineers, with a requirement for an HND in electrical engineering and at least four years’ relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Holding a relevant qualification (HND or above) in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• At least 4 years' previous experience in a similar M&E management role.
• Good IT proficiency (Excel and Word mandatory).
• Ability to work legally in the Republic of Ireland without restriction.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate and attend site surveys at tender and project delivery stages.
• Evaluate M&E supplier proposals for scope completeness, risk, programme and commercial alignment.
• Support the bid team with pricing strategy, risk allowances, qualifications and clarifications for M&E scope.
• Produce technical and delivery requirements for supplier quotations and inform delivery strategy.
• Attend design meetings with designers and sub-contractors as required.
• Provide technical and delivery support to the Site Supervisor and Project Managers.
• Manage M&E FATs and review all relevant documentation.
• Coordinate designers and installers and ensure alignment with project plans.
• Review site test documentation and RAMS for suitability and completeness.
• Manage site supervisors for M&E works and oversee commissioning engineers and CAD engineers.

Our highly successful niche sector client based in Derby offers a range of highest quality technical solutions that encompass high:integrity control and monitoring systems to blue chip clients worldwide, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and professional M and E Manager to oversee the supply chain operation and support the planning, procurement and delivery of M and E works across a range of projects and bids.

Tender Stages

To be considered for this varied and challenging M and E Manager role, you will be a well organised team player who demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and commercial awareness and a high level of electrical infrastructure and electrical principles knowledge, holding a relevant qualification (HND or above) in electrical engineering or equivalent, whilst also having the appropriate skills and experience to undertake the following (including but not limited to) duties:

• Co:ordinating and attending site surveys at both tender and project delivery stages.
• Evaluating M and E supplier proposals for scope completeness, risk, programme and commercial alignment
• Supporting the bid team with pricing strategy, risk allowances, qualifications and clarifications for M and E scope.

Project Delivery For M And E Works

• Producing technical and delivery requirements for supplier quotations and conducting evaluations and supporting site surveys as required to inform delivery strategy.
• Attending design meetings (along with design sub:contractor as required).
• Providing technical and delivery support to the Site Supervisor in site progress meetings and assisting the Project Managers in the planning, execution and completion of the M and E sub:contract works, and managing supplier progress and performance, ensuring alignment with project plans.
• Managing and reviewing the production of supplier designs
• Managing M and E FATs and reviewing all relevant documentation.
• Managing the co:ordination of designers and installers (which may be different sub:contractors)
• Reviewing site test documentation and RAMS for suitability, completeness and alignment.
• Managing site supervisors for M and E works and all aspects of installation handover, as well as all associated members of the team including Commissioning Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers and CAD Engineers.

It is envisaged that the successful M and E Manager candidate will be qualified to at least HND Electrical Engineering or above and demonstrate at least 4 years previous experience in a similar role with a high level of familiarity of electrical infrastructure and electrical principles normally associated with projects in transportation, power or comparable sizable projects from other sectors and extensive experience of supporting bids or preconstruction activities. With a good level of IT proficiency (Excel and Word mandatory) and be legally permitted to work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction, you will be comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail and the flexibility and adaptability to manage a range of different tasks and to work extra hours as required.
