The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic for field-based work across the UK. You’ll respond to breakdowns, travel to varied locations and restore customers to the road with speed and care.

Ideal candidates hold an NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, a full UK driving licence and flexibility for shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Salary reflects guaranteed earnings plus bonuses.

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
• Full UK Category B driving licence with 6 or fewer points.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Start and finish on your driveway; paid from entering the van to returning home.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What will I be doing?

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It's essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we'll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don't stick to a schedule.
