Job summary

The AA is hiring a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join its nationwide team. You’ll start and finish from your driveway, working across varied locations and weather conditions to get drivers back on the road.

You’ll use technical skills and clear communication to deliver strong customer experiences. We offer guaranteed year-1 earnings of £42,275 with potential to earn up to £60,000 OTE, with shift patterns designed for balance and flexibility, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• Full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology; we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van.
• Work independently across varied locations and conditions, while being part of a supportive team.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
