Job summary

Stagecoach Perth is seeking a hands-on Bus Service Engineer/Technician to service and repair our modern, low-emission fleet at the Perth depot.

You will diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and support roadside repairs while upholding DVSA standards. The role offers training, a competitive hourly rate of £13.64, 45 hours per week, and 34 days’ holiday.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service buses to Stagecoach and DVSA safety standards
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools
• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, including roadside repairs
• Report defects and complete work safely and in line with policies
• Collaborate with workshop colleagues and support junior team members

Shift pattern Sunday - Thursday, 45hrs per week

Looking for a hands-on engineering role where your skills keep the city moving?

We're on the lookout for a Bus Service Engineer/Technician to join our close-knit team at Stagecoach Perth. You'll play a vital role in keeping our modern, low-emission fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.

Whether you're servicing vehicles, diagnosing faults, or carrying out roadside repairs, this is a role where your expertise makes a visible difference every day.

What you'll be doing:

• Maintaining and servicing buses to Stagecoach and DVSA safety standards
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, including roadside repairs
• Reporting defects and completing all work safely and in line with policies
• Collaborating with workshop colleagues and supporting junior team members

What we're looking for:

• Previous hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, ideally in a bus, coach, truck, or HGV environment although we are open to different backgrounds
• Confident using diagnostic tools and service manuals
• A proactive, safety-first approach
• A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
• A full UK driving licence
