Job summary

Stagecoach Group in Perth is seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a depot team and oversee maintenance for a fleet of around 102 vehicles across East Scotland. The role is based at Perth Depot and offers an annual salary of £52,000 with a 45-hour week.

You will manage safe, reliable vehicle readiness, prioritise servicing, develop your team and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Stagecoach provides training, a generous pension and extensive employee benefits.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading and motivating your team to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles
• Scheduling and prioritising vehicle maintenance and servicing activities
• Supporting team development, identifying training needs and fostering continuous improvement
• Quality checking vehicles after maintenance to ensure high standards are met
• Upholding health, safety and environmental standards in line with legislation and Stagecoach policy

What we’re looking for

• Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant engineering field (mechanical or automotive)
• Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team, and a strong understanding of PCV operations
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards
• A people-centered approach to leadership, with strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment
