Job summary

Stagecoach Perth is seeking a hands-on Semi-Skilled Mechanic / Service Engineer based at our Perth depot. You’ll maintain and service buses to DVSA standards, diagnose faults with modern tools, and carry out roadside repairs as needed.

A full UK driving licence is required, with 34 days holiday and a generous pension, plus travel benefits. The role operates Sunday to Thursday, 45 hours per week, with training provided and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, ideally in a bus, coach, truck, or HGV environment.
• Confident using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
• A proactive, safety‑first approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and servicing buses to Stagecoach and DVSA safety standards.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools.
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, including roadside repairs.
• Reporting defects and completing all work safely and in line with policies.
• Collaborating with workshop colleagues and supporting junior team members.

• Pay rate of £13.64 per hour
• Shift pattern Sunday - Thursday, 45hrs per week
