Job summary

NY Highways invites applications for a permanent, full-time vehicle technician role based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. The position offers 40 hours per week from 7:30am to 4:00pm, with an OTE of £40,100–£42,794 per year plus additional hours.

You will join a skilled workshop team, diagnosing faults and performing servicing on a diverse fleet, with opportunities for training and steady career development.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent mechanical experience.
• Diagnostic experience across multiple brands.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Servicing, inspections and routine maintenance on a range of vehicles.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and brake testing.
• Ensure work is carried out in line with the workshop and H&S procedures.
• Work in line with NY Highways policies and procedures and be aware of the obligations for employees under these.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Servicing, inspections and routine maintenance on a range of vehicles.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and brake testing.
• Ensure work is carried out in line with the workshop and H&S procedures.
• Work in line with NY Highways policies and procedures and be aware of the obligations for employees under these.
• Comply with health and safety policies, organisational statements and procedures.
• Level 3 qualification or equivalent mechanical experience.
• Diagnostic experience across multiple brands.
• Ability to work flexibly and get stuck in.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
