Cancer Services are looking for a proactive MDT Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to our Cancer Pathway Coordinators. This is an interesting and performance-focused role, bringing the post holder in touch with a variety of departments and professionals within the Trust.
The post holder will facilitate the collection of cancer data through rigorous patient tracking, drive patients through their pathways to achieve the National Cancer Targets, and help prepare for the smooth running of the MDT meetings.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and computer skills, be efficient at organising and prioritising a busy workload and remain calm under pressure to achieve tight deadlines. The candidates must have an understanding of patient and data confidentiality and its importance.
The Cancer Services tracking team is a non-patient facing team that is responsible for overseeing the timely delivery of cancer standards and services. The team track patients on a cancer pathway, upscale issues to the attention of appropriate staff, provide accurate data to report the trust's performance, facilitate clinical multi-disciplinary meetings, and connect teams together, all to support cancer services throughout the trust.
We believe that compassionate care sits at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our team — clinical or non-clinical — plays a vital role in ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect at all times.
We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.
Effective communication is central to safe and high-quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding.
By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values — ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
