Job summary

City St George’s, University of London is seeking an enthusiastic educator to contribute to the design, delivery, assessment and quality assurance of communication skills teaching across the MBBS programme.

You will support students in developing patient-centred communication, consultation skills, shared decision-making, professionalism, empathy, inclusive practice, interprofessional communication, safe handover and the ability to manage complex or sensitive conversations.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality teaching in communication skills across the MBBS programme, including small-group, simulated patient and scenario-based teaching
• Teaching consultation skills, shared decision-making, professionalism, and sensitive or complex conversations, and promote inclusive, patient-centred communication
• Contributing to the design, review and updating of teaching materials, ensuring alignment with programme outcomes, GMC expectations and assessment requirements
• Contributing to communication skills assessment, including CCAs, station writing, examiner activity, marking and standard setting
• Providing constructive, developmental feedback to students, including those requiring targeted support or remediation
• Support the recruitment, induction, training and development of communication skills tutors and simulated patients
• Act as a personal tutor and contribute to student support and academic development activities
• Engage with evaluation, quality assurance, scholarship and continuous improvement of communication skills teaching and assessment
