Job summary

Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a warm, caring Matron to join our Digby House boarding team. You will support welfare, wellbeing and happiness of pupils, providing pastoral, practical and medical support in a home-from-home environment.

Working with the Housemaster and health centre staff, you will help oversee day-to-day routines, liaise with parents and guardians, and ensure the smooth running of the boarding house. A genuine commitment to young people is essential.

Qualifications

• Pastoral care experience in a boarding environment.
• Ability to support pupils' welfare and wellbeing.
• Ability to assist with medical-related matters in a boarding context.

This is a rewarding and varied role at the heart of boarding life, where you will play a key part in supporting the welfare, wellbeing and happiness of our pupils. As a trusted adult and familiar presence within the House, you will provide pastoral, practical and medical support, helping to create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment in which every pupil can thrive.

Working closely with the Housemaster, Assistant Matrons, Health Centre staff and the wider boarding team, you will be involved in all aspects of boarding house life, from supporting pupils with day-to-day routines and wellbeing, to liaising with parents, overseeing domestic arrangements and ensuring the smooth running of the House.
