Job summary

Evans boarding house is seeking an Assistant Housemaster/Housemistress for maternity cover. The role focuses on safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and a nurturing, inclusive boarding environment. You may participate in a job-share arrangement during the maternity period.

The successful candidate will support the Housemaster/Housemistress, liaising with staff, attending House meetings and helping to provide leadership opportunities for pupils in a boarding setting.

Qualifications

• Commitment to pupil wellbeing and pastoral care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to organise and manage residential routines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional standards in House and with pupils.
• Oversee House duties for a 24-hour period once a week.
• Cover additional evenings/overnight periods (5.30pm–7am).
• Be responsible for House one in every three weekends.
