Strathallan School in Perthshire seeks a Boys' House Matron to provide pastoral care, practical support and day-to-day planning for a senior boys' boarding house.

You will be part of Strathallan's Matron team, 7 matrons across boarding houses, collaborating to support pupil wellbeing and a well-managed environment. This role offers a rewarding, community-focused opportunity within a leading boarding school.

Qualifikationen

• Sound safeguarding knowledge and child protection practices.
• Experience working with children or young people and their wellbeing needs.
• Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents and staff.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage responsibilities.
• Good admin and record-keeping skills; comfortable with email and basic IT.
• Professional, reliable, calm and empathetic approach.
• Registration with the SSSC, or willingness to pursue registration.

Aufgaben

• Support pastoral care, wellbeing and welfare of pupils in the boarding house.
• Be a visible, approachable presence throughout the school day.
• Assist with day-to-day organisation and smooth running of the house.
• Support pupils with daily routines, practical needs and general care.
• Promote tidiness, organisation and personal responsibility in the house.
• Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks as required.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Work with the Housemaster and pastoral team to support pupils and boarding community.
• Liaise with school departments to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
• Contribute to a safe, welcoming and inclusive boarding environment.
