Job summary

The Oldham Academy North is seeking a dedicated Maths Tutor to provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on GCSE preparation. You will work with the Mathematics Department to raise attainment, build confidence, and close gaps in learning.

You'll deliver high-quality intervention sessions, monitor progress, and collaborate with staff, parents, and pastoral teams to maximise student success and wellbeing in a supportive academy

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
• Strong knowledge of effective mathematics teaching, tutoring and intervention strategies.
• Experience of supporting young people and delivering targeted interventions in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly to students of varying abilities.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students, building confidence, resilience and independent learning skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality one-to-one and small-group mathematics tuition to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions that address gaps in learning and improve attainment.
• Monitor, assess and track student progress, adapting support to meet individual needs.
• Support students preparing for assessments and GCSE examinations, building confidence and resilience.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and pastoral teams to maximise student success and wellbeing.
