Job summary

The Oldham Academy North, part of E-ACT, seeks an enthusiastic English Tutor to provide targeted support for Key Stages 3 and 4. You will deliver high-quality tuition in English, plan intervention programmes, and monitor progress for students requiring extra help to improve attainment and engagement.

You will work with English teachers and pastoral staff to tailor support and assist students preparing for GCSEs and internal assessments.

Qualifications

Degree in English or a related subject, or an equivalent qualification.
Experience of supporting young people and delivering targeted interventions in an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of effective English teaching, learning and tutoring strategies.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to students of varying abilities.
Ability to motivate and inspire students, building confidence, resilience and independent learning skills

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality one-to-one and small-group English tuition to support student progress and attainment.
Plan and deliver targeted intervention programmes tailored to individual learning needs.
Monitor, assess and record student progress, adapting support to maximise outcomes.
Support students preparing for internal assessments, GCSE examinations and other relevant qualifications.
Work closely with English teachers and pastoral staff to identify and support students requiring additional intervention
