Job summary

The Oldham Academy North is seeking a dedicated Maths Tutor to provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support for pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will help raise attainment, build confidence, and prepare students for GCSEs within an ambitious academy community.

Working with the Mathematics Department, you will deliver high-quality intervention sessions, monitor progress, and tailor support to individual needs, contributing to student success and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics (or a related subject) or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of effective mathematics teaching, tutoring and intervention strategies.
• Experience of supporting young people and delivering targeted interventions in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly to students of varying abilities.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students, building confidence, resilience and independent learning skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality one-to-one and small-group mathematics tuition to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions that address gaps in learning and improve attainment.
• Monitor, assess and track student progress, adapting support to meet individual needs.
• Support students preparing for assessments and GCSE examinations, building confidence and resilience.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and pastoral teams to maximise student success and wellbeing.
