Job summary

Penketh High School is seeking a passionate maths teacher to deliver high‑quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, preparing pupils for GCSE outcomes.

You will plan engaging schemes of work, use assessment to drive progress and contribute to CPD, including the Early Career Framework for ECTs, while upholding high standards of behaviour and numeracy across the department. The role starts January 2027 and offers a supportive team and broad professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mathematics and the ability to teach across KS3 and KS4.
• Proven classroom practice that engages pupils and supports progress.
• Willingness to participate in CPD and collaborate with colleagues.
• Suitable for Early Career Teachers as well as experienced practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging maths across KS3 and KS4, preparing pupils for GCSE outcomes.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet diverse learner needs and strengthen numeracy and problem-solving skills.
• Use assessment to track progress, provide timely feedback and intervene as needed.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and presentation in line with school policy.
• Contribute to department meetings, schemes of work and moderation activities for curriculum coherence.
• Participate in the school’s CPD programme, including the Early Career Framework (for ECTs), and engage with external professional development.
• Support enrichment activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.
