Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a committed Maths Teacher for a January start at a secondary school in Cambridge. You will deliver a well- sequenced curriculum to KS3 and KS4, helping pupils develop mathematical fluency and problem-solving skills.

The role involves planning engaging lessons, using varied strategies to explain concepts, and supporting GCSE preparation with regular assessment and feedback to close gaps in learning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics or a relevant subject.
• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Ability to teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4.
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of GCSE Mathematics.
• Effective classroom management and differentiated teaching strategies.
• Experience using assessment to monitor progress and inform planning.
• Commitment to high expectations, inclusion and pupil development.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons across KS3/KS4.
• Support pupils across topics including number, algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, ratio and proportion.
• Use diagnostic questioning, regular assessment and feedback to address gaps.
• Encourage pupils to explain reasoning and compare methods.
• Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations and support revision habits.
• Collaborate with department to review pupil performance and plan sequences.
• Contribute to curriculum development and attainment initiatives.
