Smile Education are currently working with a welcoming secondary school in the Cannock area who are looking to appoint a dedicated Maths Teacher.

The school delivers a broad, ambitious curriculum and supports pupils including those with SEND and from disadvantaged backgrounds. Lessons are planned to build knowledge over time, preparing students for further education, employment and life beyond school. Enrichment and CPD opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching Maths in a UK secondary school.
  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths and familiar with examinations.
  • Confident, professional and engaging teaching style.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Adaptable and enthusiastic approach to supporting student progress.
  • Ability to motivate students and develop confidence in Mathematics.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and mark engaging Maths lessons in line with school expectations.
  • Deliver high-quality Maths teaching across the secondary age range.

  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of SEND pupils and those requiring additional support.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department.
  • Teach Maths up to GCSE level, with A Level teaching available where required.
The School Are Looking For
  • An ECT or fully qualified Maths Teacher.
  • Previous experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a secure understanding of the Maths curriculum.
  • Experience teaching Maths at GCSE level and familiarity with examination requirements.
  • A confident, professional and engaging approach to teaching.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to supporting student progress.
  • The ability to motivate students and develop their confidence and understanding of Mathematics.
