Job summary

North East Surrey College of Technology is seeking a Maths Lecturer to deliver high quality GCSE Maths and Functional Skills teaching to 16-18 and adult learners. The role requires designing sequenced schemes of work, assessing progression and meeting accreditation standards.

You will plan programmes of study, monitor student progress, and adapt delivery to diverse learner needs, including daytime and evening sessions. The college emphasizes inclusivity and a smoke-free campus.

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant teaching experience in GCSE Maths and Functional Skills.
• Experience in planning a programme of study, including production of assessment schedules.
• Degree in Maths.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality teaching and assessment to students on vocational courses from entry level to Level 2.
• Design and implement schemes of work delivering a coherently sequenced curriculum and progression of broader skills alongside course requirements and accreditation standards.
• Teach cohorts of mixed abilities including 16-18 learners and adult students, with daytime and evening provision where required.
• Accurately recording and monitoring student progress and recognizing both small and significant achievements.
• Familiar with current GCSE Maths and Functional Skills standards.

• Deliver High quality teaching and assessment to students on vocational courses from entry level to Level 2.
• To foster an inclusive and equitable learning environment within the classroom, informed by the careful selection of diverse materials and relevant case studies.
• Be innovative and proactive in your approach and provide a stimulating learning environment
• To design and implement schemes of work that deliver a coherently sequenced curriculum, promoting the progression of students' broader skills alongside meeting the course requirements, assessment methods, and accreditation standards.
  As a Maths Lecturer, you will be a key member of the team, demonstrating sensitivity to learners' needs and supporting them to reach their full potential. You will have experience in accurately recording and monitoring student progress at every stage, recognising and valuing both small and significant achievements. You will teach cohorts of mixed abilities, including 16-18 learners and adult students, with the flexibility to deliver sessions during daytime and evening provision where required. The successful candidate will be familiar with current GCSE Maths and Functional Skills standards.
