The Northern College of Art is a specialist provider of post 16 arts education. Alongside studying creative disciplines many of our learners are working towards attaining their GCSEs in maths and/or English at grade 4 or above. We are seeking a passionate and innovative lecturer to join our small, and committed team of GCSE lecturers to deliver GCSE maths. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for helping students reach their full potential and who will work collaboratively to support their success. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and delivering high-quality GCSE Maths provision. They will be committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment while ensuring learners are appropriately challenged and supported. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of teaching the GCSE maths curriculum such as in secondary schools but with a unique and supportive approach that responds to a range of learning styles in a supportive learning environment that helps our learners build confidence. All of our learners study creative subjects, so the successful candidate will have the ability to make maths relevant, interesting and accessible. They will be enthusiastic about developing imaginative approaches to teaching, bringing the curriculum to life through engaging activities and contextualised learning that helps students recognise the value of maths in both education and everyday life., Teaching experience and relevant professional expertise are essential. We particularly welcome applications from candidates who have experience of teaching GCSE Maths in a secondary school setting and who are excited by the opportunity to work within a high-performing specialist further education environment that places creativity, learner success and educational excellence at its heart. We are also keen to hear from maths teachers with the abilities to also teach GCSE English language, though for clarity the primary focus of this role is GCSE maths.
