Job summary

The Supply Register is recruiting a Maths Specialist Teaching Assistant to work full-time at William Lovell Academy. The role focuses on delivering small-group interventions and supporting pupils in Mathematics to boost attainment and engagement.

ASAP start with 8:30am–3:30pm hours and a daily pay rate between £95 and £110, dependent on experience. Full-time ongoing supply with CPD access and support from a Partnership Manager.

Qualifications

• Strong Maths knowledge and confidence supporting secondary-aged pupils.
• Experience working with young people in an education, tutoring, coaching, or similar setting.
• A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting students to achieve their potential.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support within Maths lessons
• Deliver targeted interventions and booster sessions
• Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Help pupils build confidence and improve attainment in Mathematics
• Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation and resources
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback where required

About the Role

As a Maths Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The role will involve delivering small-group interventions, supporting pupils in lessons, and helping students overcome barriers to learning in Mathematics.
