Job summary

Empowering Learning are partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Wigan to recruit an enthusiastic QTS Maths Teacher for a full-time role starting in September. You will deliver engaging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4, fostering a positive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to reach their potential.

This contract runs from September to Christmas with a strong chance of extension or permanent appointment for the right candidate.

Location: Wigan Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time Monday to Friday 8:15am - 3:00pm Duration: September 2026 to Christmas 2026 Potential Extension / Permanent Opportunity Pay: 160- 225 per day (dependent on experience)

Empowering Learning are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Wigan to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated QTS Maths Teacher for a full-time position starting in September.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive Maths department from September through to Christmas, with possibility of an extension and the chance to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring Maths lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, creating a positive learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• A genuine passion for Maths and inspiring young people.
• The ability to plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to engage and motivate students through effective teaching.
