Job summary

Sir Jonathan North Girls' College in Leicester is seeking a Maths Academic Mentor to support teaching and learning. The role involves identifying gaps, creating targeted interventions, and delivering engaging sessions for a range of learners with clear objectives.

You will work with SLT and teachers to plan interventions across the curriculum, tracking progress and providing high quality one-to-one or small group tuition in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/5 or above.
• Ability to work on own initiative and adapt in a high‑pressure environment.
• Strong communication skills with children and adults.
• Proficiency with relevant technology/equipment.
• Can-do attitude and commitment to pupil well‑being and progress.

Responsibilities

• Work with SLT to identify support each pupil needs.
• Identify learning gaps and create bespoke interventions.
• Develop and deliver engaging maths sessions with clear objectives.
• Deliver measurable outcomes for each session to track progress.
• Provide high quality tuition to individuals or small groups; collaborate with teachers.
