Job summary

E-ACT West Walsall Academy is seeking a Learning Mentor to support students in English and Maths, providing targeted intervention and encouragement to help remove barriers to learning and boost confidence and engagement.

You will work with teachers and the SENDCo to deliver learning activities, monitor progress, and give timely feedback on achievement and behaviour, contributing to an inclusive school culture.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English minimum grade C or equivalent.
• TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.
• Experience supporting a child/children in a school setting and with the appropriate age range.
• Ability to work with an individual child or with a group.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils in English and Maths, building confidence and progress.
• Support pupils with SEND and wellbeing by personalised learning plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENDCo to deliver activities and monitor progress.
• Foster relationships with pupils, parents and staff to promote participation.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment using appropriate resources.
