Job summary

West Huntspill Primary is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to provide pastoral support, work under the Headteacher, and be part of the safeguarding team. You will help pupils with personal development, promote wellbeing and deliver targeted support with the teaching staff.

Applicants should have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or above and an NVQ/VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. Knowledge of provision mapping is desirable and ICT proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (4+)
• NVQ/VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Knowledge of provision mapping processes (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' personal development and progress.
• Promote well-being, self-esteem, and positive learning behaviours.
• Identify and deliver targeted support with class teacher and SLT.
• Lead small group and 1:1 interventions in literacy, numeracy, and behaviour.
• Build relationships with students, parents, staff and external agencies.
