Job summary

Weston College Group is seeking an Apprentice Lecturer (Maths) to support NEET and engagement programmes while undertaking the Level 5 Learning and Skills Coach Apprenticeship. The role focuses on Maths and combines classroom support, small group delivery and learner mentoring.

The post holder will work under guidance to build confidence in teaching, coaching and supporting learners at risk of NEET, with interviews on-site at Weston-super-Mare campuses.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people is required.
• Experience delivering education, training or targeted interventions for disengaged learners.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge for children and young people in education.
• Ability to build effective relationships with learners, parents or carers and colleagues.
• Ability to work flexibly across college sites and outreach locations.

Responsibilities

• Support lecturers with planning and delivering lessons within NEET and engagement programmes.
• Deliver small group and one-to-one learning activities under supervision, progressing to independence.
• Help learners develop employability skills, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
• Assist with preparation of teaching and learning resources.
