Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting experienced Maths Teachers and Lecturers to deliver GCSE Maths and Essential Skills Maths in Monmouthshire FE colleges. You will create engaging lessons, support learners aiming for essential maths qualifications, and prepare them for GCSE examinations in a college setting.

Ideal candidates hold a maths degree, have strong classroom management, and are committed to improving learner confidence and outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Degree in Mathematics or a related subject or substantial Maths teaching experience.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, QTS, QTLS or equivalent) is desirable.
• Experience delivering GCSE Maths and/or Essential Skills Maths.
• Strong understanding of current Maths curriculum requirements.
• Excellent classroom management and learner engagement skills.
• A passion for improving learner outcomes and confidence in Maths.
• Experience supporting learners with ALN/SEN is advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging GCSE Maths and Essential Skills Maths lessons to learners 16+.
• Support students working towards essential Maths qualifications for employment, apprenticeships and further study.
• Prepare learners for GCSE Maths examinations and assessments.
• Differentiate learning to support a wide range of abilities and learning needs.
• Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Support and motivate learners who may have previously struggled with Maths.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to drive learner achievement and success.
