Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced Maths lecturer for GCSE and A-Level in South Wales. The role involves delivering engaging maths lessons, planning high-quality sessions, and supporting learners toward qualifications.

You'll work in a Further Education setting, adapt to learner needs, assess progress, and contribute to curriculum development. A teaching qualification and FE experience are desirable, with competitive hourly rates offered.

Qualifications

• Degree or Level 3+ qualification in Mathematics or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge across GCSE and A-Level Mathematics.
• Experience teaching or supporting learners at GCSE and/or A-Level.
• Understanding of examination requirements and assessment.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Teaching qualification desirable.
• Experience working within FE desirable but not essential.
• Experience supporting learners with SEN/ALN beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging GCSE and A-Level Mathematics lessons
• Plan and prepare high-quality lessons appropriate to learner abilities
• Support learners preparing for examinations and assessments
• Develop learners' mathematical knowledge, confidence and problem-solving skills
• Assess learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Monitor attendance, progress and achievement
• Support learners with SEN/ALN or additional learning needs
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement
• Embed numeracy and employability skills where appropriate
