Job summary

Aspire People Ltd. is seeking passionate Maths lecturers to deliver GCSE Maths and Essential Skills Maths in Newport. You will engage learners aged 16+, prepare for GCSE exams, differentiate lessons, track progress and provide feedback in an inclusive classroom.

We welcome experienced FE lecturers, secondary maths teachers or education professionals with strong maths background. We offer immediate starts, flexible hours and long-term opportunities across Newport and South Wales.

Qualifications

• A Degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or substantial Maths teaching experience
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, QTS, QTLS or equivalent) is desirable
• Experience delivering GCSE Maths and/or Essential Skills Maths
• Strong understanding of current Maths curriculum requirements
• Excellent classroom management and learner engagement skills
• A passion for improving learner outcomes and confidence in Maths
• Experience supporting learners with ALN/SEN is advantageous
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Support students working towards achieving essential Maths qualifications for employment, apprenticeships and further study
• Prepare learners for GCSE Maths examinations and assessments
• Differentiate learning to support a wide range of abilities and learning needs
• Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback
• Support and motivate learners who may have previously struggled with Maths
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to drive learner achievement and success
