Job summary

Marchant Recruitment seeks a passionate Mathematics teacher for a secondary academy in Reading with an ASAP start. You will deliver Maths across KS3-KS4, potentially contributing to A-Level, in a supportive department renowned for strong student progress.

You will plan rigorous lessons, track pupil progress, and collaborate to refine schemes of work while benefitting from CPD and a welcoming school culture in Reading.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT).
• Honors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or related quantitative discipline.
• Deep subject knowledge and ability to stretch mathematically ambitious pupils.
• Active enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Teach high-quality Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
• Plan and deliver lessons that build numerical fluency, multi-step problem solving, and analytical reasoning.
• Prepare Key Stage 4 students for GCSE examinations through structured assessment, feedback, and revision workshops.
• Monitor, track, and report pupil progress using school data systems.
• Serve as a Form Tutor, delivering pastoral support, academic tracking, and mentoring.
• Collaborate with department colleagues to refine schemes of work and digital platforms.
