Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a passionate and mathematically rigorous Teacher of Mathematics to join a high-achieving secondary academy in Southampton for an immediate start. The successful candidate will deliver Maths across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 involvement for a specialist.

You will focus on developing algebraic fluency, geometric reasoning and problem solving in a full-time, long-term or permanent role, with salary paid to scale on MPS/UPS and a modern digital learning

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised UK teaching credentials (PGCE/SCITT)
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to stretch mathematically ambitious pupils.
• Enhanced DBS check (Update Service preferred)

Responsibilities

• Teach high-quality Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE)
• Plan and deliver lessons building numerical fluency and problem solving
• Prepare KS4 students for GCSE through structured assessment and revision workshops
• Monitor pupil progress using school data systems and provide feedback
• Serve as a Form Tutor delivering pastoral support and mentoring
• Collaborate with department to refine schemes of work and digital platforms
